The Pampas West Scrubland is characterized by the presence of bushes mostly thorny and in many cases, impenetrable.
This environment suggest a significant problem for the livestock activity, always based in the breeding of goats and sheep that resulted in the detriment and posterior desertification of the ecotone.
The appearance of the bovine with its characteristic feeding selectivity added to the constant thorny bushes fires contributed to the aggravation of the situation. So the animal charge in this areas is of 12 to 18 hectares by womb, principle that has been fully respected all through times. The producer who didn’t follow this non-written rule, has suffered gross economic and animal losses.
The application of this knowledge through a team formed by multitasks professionals, has allowed us to vary substantially this panorama, without overstepping the rules imposed by nature. The use of reasoning respecting the natural laws, a proper and harmonic combination.
The exploitation of the available biomass as forage and the distribution of animals in different parcels that cover the whole land to pasture, has allowed us to take the charge to 7 animals by hectare. The implementation of portable water hole, an innovative development of our team, gives us the possibility to reach the bovine in any part of the land and take advantage of the utmost forage availability.
In our lands water is a precious element; there is no chance of irrigation, therefore today the environment does not have any chance to establish pasture or green areas. These conditions define a true pastoral raising focused in a semi-arid area: the maximum expression of natural selection.
Introduction of new concepts on genetics have allowed the creation of a cow with a superior capacity adaptation, able to drink in waters with a very high salt level and pasture in bushes during the peak sun hour and without any shadow.
The compact grouping of the rodeo makes it easier to control their hygiene up to the point of not having mortality by facts derived from the lack of control. Being convinced about the respect we must show the animals, our handling is appropriate to the nature of the bovine, without shouts, dogs, blows or cattle prods. |
